Will my Dunlop SP Sport 8000 summer tires be physically damaged by below freezing temperatures?

I'm planning a trip to northern NJ for Christmas and can expect some temperatures below freezing. I'm an experienced winter driver and I can compensate for loss of traction on snow and ice by driving cautiously but I do not want to damage my tires. Is the rubber likely to crack or are the summer ratings really a traction issue?|||Traction only, they wont work for crap in the snow but you wont hurt them.|||No, the rubber will not crack, or detroiate, but the traction will be dramaticly reduced. The rubber on these are harder rubber to operate at high summer temps with good traction. As the temps get colder, the rubber will be harder, so the tire will not grip the road as it would on a hot day. Also some winter tires have treads to get grip on snow and ice, summer tires usually are more of a smooth tread design.
