Can a Dunlop Wah Pedal that is made for guitar work on bass, or could it break it?

I can get a normal guitar one for cheap on ebay; they are always there. i really don't want to pay $120 for the special bass one, but I'd hate to buy one only to have the lows blow out the potentiometer (aka pot) or something. could this happen?|||Some you can, some you can't. Just look it up on musicians friend or the Dunlop sight. It should say whether you can use it for bass or not. I found out the hard way and fried my Dunlop by playing a bass through it.
